Get Your Business Noticed on Instagram

Everyone knows about using Facebook, Twitter and even YouTube when it comes to reaching out to the public and interacting on behalf of your business, company or product. However, if you are not using Instagram, you might be missing out on a lot of fresh eyes, and potential clients.

“Isn’t Instagram just for photos and video?” you may be thinking, and yes, it is a photo sharing app. But, it is also a brilliant way to reach out to new markets and share your company’s story, share your product and just interact with the public.

Here are a few tips for getting your company on Instagram, and make it work:

Use Hashtags and Captions

You can use photos or quick videos in order to share elements of your company’s story, or share your product, however, you need to make sure to use captions and hashtags when you post.

Using general hashtags at the end of your captions is a good way to get some attention drawn to your post, but is also a good way to nourish interaction.

You should also make sure that your caption and hashtags relate, which means not just throwing the same hashtag into every post. Also, make sure that you know the proper use of each hashtag you use (maybe to a quick search before you post!)

Do Not #Spam

While you should be using hashtags in your posts, you must avoid tipping past the saturation point or else your posts will just look like a flood of hashtags with no content.

It’s the Perfect Media for Contests

Instagram, and its integration with Facebook and Twitter, makes it one of the best social media sites for running contests.

Once you get in a good routine of posting quality photos/videos, making good use of hashtags, and are interacting with other users who comment and like your content, you can take the platform one step further with contests.

Giveaways or shout-outs are a great way to build brand favour, and with Instagram it can be as easy as a photo competition that suits your company, or product.

One of the most often used examples of this is having people post photos of them and your product. You can encourage users to tag you, and even use your specific hashtag, which will spread your brand even further.
